The Infant School (2-4 year olds) offers a happy and stimulating environment in which children learn to be away from home, to understand the importance of routines and rules and to work independently as well as in groups.
Our Infant section forms an intrinsic part of the St. Louis School – top performing IB school in Europe. And it all starts here in the foundation stage, where young minds are stimulated and encouraged in a unique environment.
Enrollments for the 2017/18 school year commencing in September are now open. Do not miss a special opportunity to become part of our learning family.
The academic programme is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage of the British National Curriculum and it is structured around the following areas of learning:
The aim of our curriculum is to:
The school provides music and physical education specialist teachers, swimming lessons, visits to museums and theatres, excursions and extra-curricular activities and clubs, such as ballet, judo, yoga, art, etc.
From Reception the children have the opportunity to visit the school library where they select books, listen to and share stories to develop their love of reading. The computer suite is available for all children in Reception once a week. The children use technology to support their learning, using a mouse and keyboards to interact with age-appropriate software.
The children arrive at school between 8.45 and 9.30 a.m. and go home between 3.45 and 4.00 p.m.
In the afternoon the teachers put the younger children to bed (2-3 year olds); they have their nap from 1.00 to 2.30 p.m.
